My name is Boryana Dimitrova. I am originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. I hold a B.S. in Marketing and International Business from St. Peter’s University, Jersey City, NJ and a PhD in Marketing from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. I am now a full-time faculty member at Drexel's LeBow College of Business.

I am also the mother of three daughters, who keep me very busy. To stay sane, grounded, and clear my mind while taking care of my body, I do Bikram yoga and run.

I am a very busy mom of three and, after having my kids, I started learning about brands that were doing it all right - from their purpose through their products, their sustainability efforts, and the way they treat their customers and employees. I  decided that, after all the years I have spent researching and teaching marketing,  I want to help purpose-driven entrepreneurs thrive and propel them forward, similarly to the brands that inspired the desire to start my business.

Why Black Sea?

 

Growing up in Bulgaria, I used to spend my summers (along with my sister) at the Black Sea where my grandmother lived. It was an amazing time. So, needless to say, I love water and I love the sea because they remind me of childhood and freedom. My grandmother’s apartment was on the fifteenth floor of an apartment building overseeing the Black Sea and the sea garden. I loved it and very much miss this view! You could see the never-ending horizon right in front of you. Just as with marketing where you have endless options to market your product in order to put it in front of your ideal customers, the Black Sea gives you this impression - that it is endless and beautiful.

My goal is to help you think about your business long-term, strategically so you can make smart marketing moves that convert. Yes, marketing can be used for the wrong purposes, but this is not what we do here. I focus on what I like to call marketing done right - marketing wellness for today and tomorrow.
